Jack Lang, former breeder, Canadian Standardbred Horse Society director and Ontario Racing Commission commissioner, passed away at the West Haldimand General Hospital on Monday, June 29 at the age of 80
.
Lang was the founder of Prima Farms, a leading boarding and breeding facility in Ontario.
He is survived by his beloved wife Marie (Turcotte); daughters Sharon Morris, Christine Davies (Bruce), Connie Fleming (Cameron) and Dianne Lang; and his grandchildren Trevor and Meghan Morris, Erika, Katelyn and Whitney Davies, and Lauren and Mackenzie Fleming.
Lang was predeceased by his daughter Tracey Lang, a former advertising director for Trot Magazine and the Standardbred Canada website.
Friends will be received by the family on Thursday July 2, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Chapel, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia, Ont. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Caledonia.
