Keith 'Sonny' Doyle Passes

Keith (Sonny) Doyle of Truro, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30 with his wife Pam and his sisters by his side at the age of 75.

Sonny is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Leslie (Brent), son Stephen (Christine) daughter Jodie (Gerry), step-daughter Tanya, step-son Steven, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters Bill (Rosemary), Marilyn (Ron), Diane, Norma (Marshall), Arthur (Nancy), Phillip, Shelley (Kent) and many nieces and nephews.

Sonny was a longtime USTA and Standarbred Canada member. Sonny's passion for
harness racing started as a teen in his home town of Truro, Nova Scotia. After 10 years in the Armed Forces Sonny found his way back to his passion of training racehorses in his home town. After retiring from training horses Sonny spent the majority of his time on the golf course and enjoying his retirement.

Sonny will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral arrangements have taken place.

I remember fondly when Keith Doyle campaigned Kiwi Kelly at Sackville Downs. His brother Phil had quite a good stable at the time as well with Inflation Stopper and GP's Bullet. He will be missed in the Maritime racing circles.
