William Lancaster Passes

William N. Lancaster, 94, of Columbus, N.J., died at home on December 23, 2016.

Born in Bishopton, Quebec, he moved to New England in 1970, and then made his home in Columbus, N.J., in 1981. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen B. Duguay Lancaster; loving father of Joy (Ron) Dolan, Mark (Kathy), Jackie (Reuben) Lake, Bill (Jody), Steven, son-in-law Armand Bernard and the late Jean Bernard and Margaret Lord; proud grandfather of 12; and great grandfather of eight. He will also be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, and many more that called him Grampy.

Mr. Lancaster trained and raced Standardbreds in the family business his entire life with his wife Eileen by his side.

He served in the 16th armoured regiment (7/11 Husars) of the Canadian Army and was a member of Hedding United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held at Huber Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, N.J. on Thursday (Dec. 29) from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 30) at the Hedding United Methodist Church, 2289 Old York Rd., Hedding, NJ 08505. Interment to be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hedding United Methodist Church.
