Adrian Charles de Pasquale, 78, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, passed away on Monday (December 12) surrounded by his family.

The youngest of six children, de Pasquale was born to Eugene and Sheila on December 2, 1938, in Floral Park, New York. His parents were responsible for the construction and operation of Little River Farm in Pinehurst, N.C.

After his father's passing, de Pasquale also took part in the enterprise that not only bred more than 50 Standardbreds throughout the 1950s and 1960s, but was a forum for other notable equine events such as the Olympic trials.

Little River Farm, which later became a training facility, produced top class horses such as Bye Bye Max (Bye Bye Byrd, $417,910) and bred their mares to noteworthy stallions Henry T. Adios (Adios, $706, 833) who was a world champion and multiple Dan Patch Award winner as well as fellow world champion, and Hall of Fame member Tar Heel (Billy Direct, $119,148).
