Truro Top Class To His Boy Elroy
Bernard McCallum successfully employed a ‘go to the front and don’t look back’ approach to winning Sunday’s feature race at Truro Raceway with His Boy Elroy.
His Boy Elroy, who hails from McCallum’s barn, carved out fractions of :29.3, 1:00.2 and 1:30.2 before kicking out a :29.2 closing panel to win by three-quarters of a length over Desir Dorleans in 1:59.4. Surrealist took home the show dough.
Sent off as the 3-5 favourite in the five-horse affair, His Boy Elroy now boasts a 5-8-3 record from 23 starts this season. The career winner of $208,300 is owned by Dan Mac Rae of Baddeck, NS.
