Primetime Patsy and Ricky Macomber Jr. didn’t disappoint in the fourth and final preliminary round of Indiana Sires Stakes action Friday, June 26

.

The duo crossed under the wire in a time of 1:57. The three-year-old Primetime Ranger protégé earned her second win among the Indiana Sires Stakes ranks and is headed to the six-figure final set for Saturday, July 11 during Million Dollar Indiana Championships Day.

Starting from Post 5, Primetime Patsy left alertly but not in a rush as Lunar Toon and Doug Rideout were the first pair to establish the speed at the quarter in :28.1. Down the backstretch, Primetime Patsy was out and moving behind ABC EZ Credit and Verlin Yoder, who cleared at the halfway point in :58.1. Primetime Patsy became the leader heading into the stretch and never looked back, posting a six and one-half length victory in the end. Monkey Shine and Brad Hanners rallied up for second over Secret Liz and Don Eash for third.

Primetime Patsy now has two wins in seven starts for 2009. She lowered her career best time by more than two full seconds and increased her career bankroll to more than $35,000 for trainer-owner-breeder Greg Runyon.

“I waited until this year to really do anything with her,” said Runyon. “She [Primetime Patsy] is very mean. She has good days and she has bad days. I didn’t expect her to do this year, but she was almost perfect earlier in the year. Then, she got sick and she fell off a couple of races. Now, she is finally coming into her own.”

In the other division of three-year-old trotting fillies, J Rs Star and Jay Cross turned in a comfortable win, posting a time of 1:58.4 by six lengths. The New and Notable filly earned her first win in 11 starts for 2009, lowering her career best time by nearly three full seconds. Mayfair Segredo and Mark O’Mara finished second over DM Sparkling Sea and Jason Dillander for third.

J Rs Star is owned and trained by Verlin Yoder. She increased her career bankroll to more than $40,000 with the win.
