Admirals Express To Extend Cup Night Streak?
Admirals Express will be looking for his usual North America Cup night luck having drawn the outside post in the evening’s final race at Mohawk Racetrack
.
The double millionaire trained by Mike Hales has raced five times on Cup night in the past with wins in his last four starts. On the night of June 22, 2002 when Red River Hanover won the featured race, Admirals Express finished fourth in a Free For All won by Hall of Famer Real Desire.
His Cup night winning streak started the following year with Paul MacDonell at the lines each time. The son of Admirals Galley – Platinum Card won his overnight conditioner on June 21 when Yankee Cruiser won the Cup. On June 19, 2004 Mantacular triumphed in the main event while Admirals Express took the Free For All. One year later minus a day, the Grey Gladiator did it again, winning the Open Pace after Rocknroll Hanover won the Cup. The next year Total Truth won the Cup on June 17 and Admirals Express prevailed in the Preferred Pace.
This Saturday, the now 13-year-old veteran and MacDonell will start from Post 10 in Race 13.
