Flamboro Preferred To Eternal Quest
After getting off to a very slow start to the season, Eternal Quest has really found his 'mojo' since joining the Lasix program for trainer Chad Milner.
The four-year-old son of Pilgrims Taj-Eternal Spirit went 0-for-8 to kick off his 2016 campaign, but he’s now won three of his last four assignments thanks in part to a 1:59.3 triumph in Saturday’s $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Flamboro Downs.
Scott Coulter got away fourth with Eternal Quest while William Star muscled to the motor and had the field chasing him past the opening marker in :28.3. Eternal Quest was on the move in the second quarter, and he marched right up beside William Star at the mid-way point in :59.3. Those two continued their battle to the three-quarter station in 1:28.4 before Eternal Quest put away the tempo-setter. Coulter milked :30.4 closing speed from his charge who drew clear to win by a pair of lengths over Lexis D J in 1:59.3. Giona rallied from far back to grab the show dough.
Chad Milner trains the 11-1 upsetter for owner Murray Ferguson, Jr. of Sutton West, Ont. The OSS graduate, who won for the sixth time in his career, is closing in on $140,000 in lifetime earnings.
