Tioga Drivers' Championship Details
The third annual Drivers' Championship at Tioga Downs has been slated for Sunday, August 2 with a first race post time of 1:30 p.m.
The top seven money-earning drivers in North America, along with the top money-earning driver at Tioga Downs, and one sponsors exemption will compete for $40,000 in prize money.
The winner’s share of the $40,000 prize money is $25,000. Also featured on Sunday, August 2 will be the Yannick Gingras bobble head giveaway, in honour of his co-champion title in 2007, and the outright title in 2008. Gingras clinched last year’s title in the sixth and final event with All Due Respect for trainer Jean Drolet from Post 8.
The cut-off date for the top money-earning drivers is Sunday, July 26. If the competition were to start today, the top seven would be Tim Tetrick, Brian Sears, Jason Bartlett, Dave Palone, Andy Miller, Jody Jamieson and George Brennan.
The driver representing Tioga Downs would be leading driver Jimmy Marohn, Jr. Who will be the 2009 sponsor’s exemption?
