Prior to his Alberta departure in mid-September, Travis Cullen solidified a commanding lead in the driver and trainer standings at Century Downs and could not be caught through the final months of the 2016 harness racing meet, which concluded with Fan Appreciation Day on Friday, Nov. 11.

During Friday's season finale, Century Downs' top driver, trainer and owner awards were presented by Jackson Wittup in the winner's circle. Cullen was the leading driver and trainer with 197 and 187 wins in those respective categories. His sister and brother-in-law, Ashleigh and Ed Hensley, who also relocated to Ontario in September, were named top owners of the meet. Greg Manning accepted the awards on behalf of Cullen and the Hensleys.

Mike Hennessy finished second in the driver standings with 74 wins while Ashleigh Hensley was the runner-up in the trainer standings with 49 victories.

Keith Clark recorded the most wins on the day with a training triple that began in the third race with the maiden-breaking two-year-old colt Latestngreatest (Gerry Hudon) defeating his stablemate Terriblyinclined (Phil Giesbrecht). Clark closed out the meet with back-to-back victories in the final two races. Three-year-old filly Credit The Shark (Hudon) won the 11th race and then Mystery Mania (Nathan Sobey), riding a seven-race win streak, and Barossa Blue Genes (Giesbrecht) gave Clark another 1-2 finish in the finale. Those final wins also completed driving triples on the card for Hudon and Sobey.
