Surrounded by his family, longtime harness racing industry participant Robert Wignall of Burlington, Ont. passed away at The Joseph Brant Hospital on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the age of 74.

Retired from White Oaks Secondary School, Oakville, where he was a longtime teacher, counsellor, coach and mentor. As an owner of Standardbreds, he co-owned the notable performer Northern Princess.

Loving husband of the late Ann (2008). Devoted father to Geoff Wignall (Kelly Powell) and Bonnie Wignall. Cherished grandfather to Hailey, Sarah and Ryan. Dear brother of Joyce Wignall and Susan Anderson (Robert). He will be missed by his niece Maggie Papadopoulos and his nephew Brad Anderson. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Barb Wignall.

Visitation and funeral service have already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be given to St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton - Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health or to Bridging the Gap (1-866-607-KIDS or www.cafh.ca).
