Dapper Dude Reaches Career Milestone
Dapper Dude became a millionaire on Saturday (October 29) by surviving a four-wide first quarter in :25.4 and holding firm late to capture the $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows. The win pushed his career bankroll to $1,004,110 (U.S.).
After Dapper Dude reached the half in :54.2, he was challenged first over by Atta Boy Dan. But the seven-year-old son of The Panderosa-Dressed To Suggest dug in for Tony Hall and defeated Atta Boy Dan by three-quarters of a length in 1:50.2. That Man Of Mine rallied for show.
Dapper Dude enjoyed his finest season at three racing for the Bob McIntosh stable when he earned $485,310 (U.S.) and downed Sweet Lou in the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes championship. He was third in the final of the North America Cup after winning an elimination.
Bill Bercury now trains the millionaire for Renee Bercury.
Hall enjoyed a four-bagger on the 14-race card while Dave Palone and trainer Ron Burke teamed for four victories.
