Hoosier Reduces High-5 Takeout

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is pleased to announce a reduction in pari-mutuel takeout on its pentafecta wager, the Hoosier High-5, beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 18 and continuing for the remainder of the 2016 harness racing season.

With a reduced takeout of 12 per cent, Hoosier Park will now offer the lowest takeout on the pentafecta wager of all harness tracks in North America.

The Hoosier High-5 was approved and added to the wagering menu at the beginning of the 2016 harness racing season and has been well received by the betting public. The Hoosier High-5 is responsible for the season’s biggest payout to date in 2016 with an $18,431.42 winning ticket paid out in early July.

“We have been very encouraged by the growth in wagering on the Hoosier High-5 as the season has progressed,” said Rick Moore, Hoosier Park’s vice president and general manager of racing. “We believe the lower takeout will provide the impetus needed to enhance the public’s awareness of this most popular wager.”

Hoosier Park remains committed to giving fans and customers the very best racing experience to be found anywhere. The takeout reduction is being viewed as an ‘experiment’ for the remainder of the season and Hoosier Park officials are confident that bettors will embrace the lower takeout with increased levels of wagering.
