Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals Drawn
Eight $250,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals have been drawn and are now set for this Saturday’s (October 15) program of live racing at Mohawk Racetrack.
The top point earners from the OSS regular season will meet Saturday at the Campbellville, Ont. oval, as the best of each sex and gait will square off for provincial supremacy.
The Super Finals will comprise Race 2 through Race 5, and Race 7 through Race 10.
The three-year-old colt and gelding pace has been carded as Race 10, and if Betting Line wants to extend his 13-race win streak, he’s going to have to get the job done from Post 10. The Little Brown Jug winner found no luck with the post position gods on Tuesday, and will have to overcome the disadvantage. Trainer Casie Coleman has listed the colt’s regular driver, David Miller, to steer Saturday for owners West Wins Stable, Christine Calhoun and Mac Nichol.
Millionaire Kadabra lass Caprice Hill headlines the three-year-old filly trot, which has been carded as Race 8. The student of trainer Tony Alagna fared well in the post draw, and will start from Post 3. The multiple stakes winner will come into the race off of an October 4 qualifier at Mohawk Racetrack. Alagna has listed Tim Tetrick to drive for owner Tom Hill.
Jugette winner L A Delight will start from Post 4 in the three-year-old filly pace, which has been carded as Race 3. The daughter of Bettors Delight will head into her Super Final off of a sharp 1:50.3 score on September 30 at Mohawk. Trainer Bob McIntosh has listed Randy Waples to steer the career winner of $1.2 million in purses. L A Delight is owned by Robert McIntosh Stables Inc., C S X Stables and Al McIntosh Holdings Inc.
Mohawk’s Saturday card will kick off with a 7:30 p.m. first-race post time.
