Foxy Swan Continues To Dominate
Foxy Swan, with Trace Tetrick at the lines, continued her divisional dominance as she turned in another impressive performance to take the featured event of the evening, the $75,000 Indiana Sires Stakes final for two-year-old trotting fillies, at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Tuesday, September 13.
With a final time of 1:57.2, the Erv Miller trainee made her game-winning move down the backside to score by three lengths and notch her third consecutive stakes victory at Hoosier Park.
Leaving from the trailing post ten, Foxy Swan was unhurried from the gate and settled along the rail in fifth. Intothelight and Rick Plano left alertly from post five to grab command at the first stop in :27.4 but would quickly yield the lead to Ajessia and Doug Rideout. Ajessia lead the field to the half in :57.3 but her lead would also be short-lived as Dan Shetler and Best Wishes wanted their turn on the front.
Best Wishes was in command at the three-quarter clocking in 1:27.3 and as the field rounded the final turn, Tetrick had Foxy Swan pointed to the front. Foxy Swan ranged up to take the lead and as the field turned for home, her lead was ever-increasing.
Using a :29.4 final panel, Foxy Swan coasted to the wire under a hand drive to finish three lengths in front of Best Wishes. Intothelight continued to rally to round out the trifecta. As the 3-5 post time favourite, Foxy Swan returned $3.20 to her backers at the betting windows.
Owned by the Ervin Miller Stable and Anthony Lombardi, the daughter of Swan For All-Fox Valley Click has now won six of nine lifetime outings, with five of those victories coming in her last six starts. With the win, Foxy Swan has now amassed $154,786 lifetime for her connections.
The Indiana Sires Stakes action will continue at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Wednesday, September 14 with the $75,000 Indiana Sires Stakes final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings. Wednesday’s 14-race card will also offer a $20,000 Guaranteed Trifecta in the opening leg of the pick-5 sequence, race 10.
