Fans were treated to a terrific card of racing Saturday at Fredericton Raceway, as the half-mile oval featured a trio of divisions of the Bill Quigg Memorial Stakes.
Paradise Paradox turned a two-hole trip into a 2:00.1 tally in the $10,100 filly division. The daughter of Western Paradise-Reno Rose stalked Pownal Bay Style through fractions of :29.2, 1:00 and 1:29.2 before pouncing on that foe and drawing clear to win by a length for trainer/driver Bernard McCallum over Southfield Sassy. Silverhill Cupid was third.
Ronald Mansfield, Joshua Schoeneman and Charles Mansfield own the filly who won for the first time this season and for the third time in her career. She’s put away more than $30,000 to date.
Offshore Cowboy took home top honours in the first $10,100 division for the colt and gelding pacers. The three-year-old son of Brandons Cowboy-Charlottes Candy survived a first-over trip and drew clear to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Heart And Soul, with Jackson K Down taking home third prize.

The son of Ameripan Gigolo-Well Wishes fired home in :29.4 to win by a half-length margin over Dusty Lane Arby in 1:59. IC A Life Force rounded out the top three finishers.
It was the first win of the year for the two-time winner who is owned by David Lund of Moncton, NB. To date, the gelding has banked more than $21,000.
On the undercard, D Gs Camme got up in the closing strides for a 1:55.1 triumph in the $7,000 Jennie & Joe Chippin Memorial. His :29.4 kicker was good enough to earn the narrow score over Smiley Bayama. Big Surf settled for third.
Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, the Jackie Matheson pupil improved this year’s record to 5-4-1 from 11 starts for partners Quentin Beven, Hal Bevan, Tom Clark and Ronald Matheson. The 26-time winner lifted his earnings over $150,000 with the win.
