McClure Mastery In Elora

Grand River Raceway treated its fans to a 10-race card on Labour Day, and driver Bob McClure won half of those dashes.

McClure captured the opener, the curtain closer and three in between to make up what was a solid night at the Grand River Raceway office.

T V Sno Massive (2:00.2) got the party started for McClure thanks to her come-from-behind decision in Race 1. He didn’t take the checkered flag again until Sauble Ashley (1:56.1) rallied to an easy win in Race 6.

McClure closed out his night by winning the final three-dashes with Fading Shadow (1:58.2) in Race 8, Howie (1:58.3) in Race 9 and Withahearttomatch (2:03) in Race 10.

It’s been a profitable year for the young sulky sitter who is just five wins away from matching last year’s career-best win total of 340. He’s quickly closing in on $2 million in earnings for the second consecutive season. Maybe the most impressive stat held by the career winner of 1,189 races and purse earnings of close to $7 million is this year’s lofty UDR of .361.
