Charges After Clenbuterol Positives

Pennsylvania Attorney General Bruce L. Castor Jr. announced on Thursday (August 18) that a horse racing participant in the state has been arrested and charged with one count of rigging a publicly exhibited contest.

According to an article by wjactv.com, the state’s horse racing commission initiated an investigation, which was then followed up by an investigation by the Office of Attorney General’s Organized Crime Section and Gaming Unit.

Twenty-five-year-old Marian Vega was arrested and charged after it was alleged that she illegally administered Clenbuterol to racehorses at the Thoroughbred racecourse Parx Casino and Racing.

The article goes on to state that multiple horses tested positive for Clenbuterol and that Vega was found to be in a possession of Clenbuterol during the course of one of the investigations.

Vega was released on $20,000 bail and a hearing into the matter is expected to take place at the end of the month.
