Nixon's Lebanon Future Up In The Air
According to a report by the Middletown Journal, one of the co-owners of Ohio's Lebanon Raceway will soon be making a decision on whether to keep its interest in
the half-mile facility.
Part of the Lebanon ownership fray since 1967, the Nixon family has until July to come up with the $1 million bond required to secure a permit with the Ohio Racing Commission.
“We’re in a serious situation,” Karen Nixon Heaberlin was quoted as saying. “But we’re still working on ways to stay alive and viable. We haven’t gotten that worked out yet. The racing commission plays a big part in that. We’re waiting to see what our options are.”
The article goes on to state that members of the Nixon family will meet with the Ohio Racing Commission today in Columbus to discuss their options.
