Miller Dominates PA Stallion Series
Driver David Miller dominated in the Pennsylvania Stallions Series on Wednesday, August 10 at Harrah's Philadelphia, driving half of the winning two-year-old trotting fillies.
Trixie Dust was the fastest of the eight $20,000 division winners with a 1:57.4 mile. Miller sent the 4-5 favourite on the move down the backstretch and Trixie Dust trotted off to a five-length victory while 51-1 longshot Caviart Wonder followed her cover to place and All Set Lets Go finished third. Trainer Rich Gillock and Paula Sokol co-own the Winning Mister-Emma J filly, who now boasts three wins and three seconds to start her career and nearly $30,000 in purse earnings.
Among Miller's quartet of stakes wins, the Canadian-connected filly True Friends held off No Bus For Us by half a length for a 1:58.1 victory in her division. Richard 'Nifty' Norman trains the Andover Hall-Just A Valley Gal filly for owners Melvin Hartman of Ottawa, Ont., R A W Equine Inc. of Burlington, Ont., and the New Jersey-based Enzed Racing Stable Inc. True Friends earned her first career win following a pair of starts marred by breaks.
Miller also enjoyed Stallion Series victories aboard the undefeated Vodka N Lindy (2:00.1) for trainer George Ducharme and the maiden-breaking Blacksirenpedia (2:00.3) for Bob Stewart.
Other division winners included Lookingforamiracle (1:59.2, Ed Lohmeyer), Explosive Legacy (1:59.3, Victor Kirby), and first-time winners Deeply (2:00.4, Ake Svanstedt) and the Noel Daley-trained Havanna Bar (1:58.3, Andrew McCarthy).
