A Day For The Fans At Clinton
Clinton Raceway held its annual fan appreciation day yesterday (Sunday, August 7), and track officials put the afternoon together with its great racing fans in mind.
The fan appreciation day came complete with $1 programs, $1 hot dogs, foam fingers and great prizes between the races.
"We really do have the best fans," stated the track’s marketing manager, Jessica Carnochan. "We make sure to show them our appreciation each week, but it's nice to have a day just for them."
Following the ninth race, fans were also treated to a different on-track race, as four OLG Slots mascots made the trip down to join C.R. Trotter (Clinton's mascot) for a friendly romp. It was a close call, but Lucky 7 had it at the wire! The event was sponsored in part by the newest division of the OLG, Ontario Racing.
Kids Day will return to Clinton Raceway this coming Sunday (August 14). Bring the family out for games, rides and lots of free family fun to support the Sunshine Foundation. Trackside BBQ, 50/50 and a bake sale will be held to raise money. On-track action will feature a miniature-horse race, as well as a meet and greet at the grandstand.
Live harness racing will resume at the Huron County oval through Sunday, September 4. First-race post time is 1:30 p.m. Be sure to visit clintonraceway.com for more info regarding the remaining events this season.
