Stakes-Filled Card Set For Summerside
The stage is set for a stakes-filled day at Red Shores Summerside Sunday with a 16-dash program featuring the Maple Leaf and Callbeck Stakes with $82,400 in prize money on the line.
The afternoon gets underway with Pappy Go Go, a two–year-old trotter from the William Andrew breeding farm, installed as the morning line favourite while Tobinator (Corey MacPherson) goes for his third win from four starts in his young career in race 2.
The three-year-old trotters make their first appearance in race 3 with Dunmore Ace, owned by trot specialist Ralph Annear of Montague, PE, trying for top honours.
In other action, Nameisonthehalter is back in town and leads off the Pick 5 players in race 6 for Danny Romo. The two-year-old colt, owned by Lawrence Snow of Glace Bay, NS, has only one defeat in four starts in his young career.
Breeders Crown champion Glencove Zani (Len McGuigan) and red-hot Mr Bower (Ken Arsenault) hook up in race 7.
These future stars have some pretty cool names such as fillies Kiss My Sass, Filly Forty Seven and Imahawkchick. Some of the colt’s catchy names include Mick Dundee, Cowboys Dont Cry and Wicked Nick. They will be strutting their stuff Sunday at Summerside.
