Machinthesand Repeats At Summerside
The Machinthesand that fans are used to seeing at Red Shores Summerside is back and he is back with a vengeance.
After crushing his opponents with a front-end victory on Wednesday night, the Hughie Murphy trainee was back at it again on Sunday (July 24) in the $2,200 afternoon feature.
Norris Rogers rolled the seven-year-old Mach Three gelding through hot fractions before driving away from pocket-sitting Motorino and picking up back-to-back victories for Noonan Holdings Ltd. – Russell and Karen Noonan. His fifth victory of the year was a season’s best clocking, 1:55.1.
Machinthesand's victory was part of a driving double for Rogers, who kicked of the card aboard his own trainee Goodmorning Rambo.
Corey MacPherson also had a driving double on the card, winning with Dustylanemissmolly in a lifetime-best 1:57.2 and then closing out the card with Useful Hanover.
The total handle was $16,688.
