Holdingallthecards Goes The Distance

The $11,000 Open Pace for horses & geldings highlighted Sunday’s card of racing at Running Aces, and this week’s edition was another great contest thanks to the effort of the gate-to wire winner, Holdingallthecards.

With Dean Magee in the sulky, the pacer showed his back class despite taking a sharp move up in class. Dean Magee sent Holdingallthecards right to the lead and he was never in doubt, posting fractions of 27.4, 56.1 and 1:23.4 before pacing home confidently in :28.1 to register a length-and-a-half tally in 1:52. Last weeks open winner, Buddys Hope (Luke Plano), was second with Dry Ice (Steve Wiseman) checking in third.

It was the third win in a row for the son of Cams Card Shark-Ivory Tower. He is owned by William and Richard Mc Intyre and trained by David Ginter. Tonight’s victory was his 32nd lifetime win and pushed his career earnings to $343,817.

The $15,000 Minnesota-Sired Trotting event went to The Winnin Dollar once again. He remains perfect in his five starts this year after narrowly holding off a furious late charge by Margins Echo (Rick Magee) in 2:00.2. Longshot Ragnar Rocks (Luke Plano) was third.

Nick Roland sent The Winnin Dollar right to the lead from the outside post and lead throughout the mile, posting soft fractions of 30.2, 1:01.2 and 1:31.1 before trotting home in :29.1 to post the nose decision. He boasts earnings of $22,250 for owner Jesse De Long and Trainer Justin Anfinson.

Steve Wiseman had another big night, posting a Hat-trick on the card, most notably winning with his trainee Kukalaka in a new lifetime mark of 1:53.1 paying $19.00.

Nick Roland, Jim Marino and Dean Magee all posted driving doubles on the Sunday night card as well.

The next card of live Harness Racing goes to post on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Running Aces will be adding live racing on Wednesdays, starting on July 27th, with a 7:00 p.m. post time.
