Tidewaterdragonfly In Mares Open
A change of tactics proved most beneficial for Tidewaterdragonfly ($9.20), who held off all comers in near pillar-to-post fashion, recording a 1:50.3 victory in Wednesday evening's $35,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack
.
Off the board in her first two starts at Chester this year, driver Tim Tetrick moved the five-year-old Dragon Again mare to the front, facing pressure from Btwnyurheartnmine (Eric Goodell) up the backstretch. After turning Btwnyurheartnmine away after battling past three-quarters in 1:22.1, Tidewaterdragonfly responded well to the pocket-pulling Ideal Newton (Yannick Gingras), kicking away by three lengths in deep stretch. Cuz She Can (Daniel Dube) swept up three-wide, closing for third.
Kelly O'Donnell trains the millionairess, who is now 15-for-40 in her career for owners David Beachler and Annefuria Singleton.
