Lady Crocus Stakes Set To Go

The connections of 10 three-year-old pacing fillies have entered their charges to contest this Saturday’s (July 9) Lady Crocus Stakes, which will be raced at the Glenboro Fair in Manitoba. The fillies have been evenly split into a pair of $6,600 divisions.

The stakes event is co-sponsored by Standardbred Canada and the Manitoba Standardbred Sires & Breeders Association. The divisions have been programmed as Race 5 and Race 6 on the seven-dash card. The Saturday docket will kick off with a 1:30 p.m. first-race post time.

The Trevor Williams-trained and Don Howlett-driven Garde Hebert has been installed as the 2-1 morning line favourite in the first division. The Mach Three lass will start from Post 1. She has made just one start thus far in 2016, but she made it count, as Garde Hebert posted a maiden-breaking score last week at Morris. Michael and Trevor Williams (of Winnipeg, MB) co-own the filly. For a free program page for the race, courtesy of TrackIT, click here.

Armbro Baylor bay Cordees Whitesocks has been pegged as the 6-5 early favourite for Division 2. After having gone unraced last year at two, the filly won at first asking last week at Morris for conditioner Trevor Williams and pilot Don Howlett. Just like her aforementioned stablemate, Cordees Whitesocks was a gate-to-wire winner to kick off her 2016 campaign for Michael and Trevor Williams (Winnipeg, MB).
