Incident Prompts Bangor Canine Ban
According to a report on bangordailynews.com, dogs have been banned from the Bangor Raceway backstretch after an eight-year-old gelding was spooked by a canine on Sunday, June 7. The gelding subsequently injured itself and
died.
The report states that the measure was put into place, effective immediately, on Monday, June 8 by state racing steward Ralph Canney.
Rich Camelot, a career $205,430 earner which was owned by Sunbury Stables and trained by Shawn Nye, was the gelding that died. The report cites internal injuries as the cause of death.

stable in B.C. for a number of years before being sold.He was a character,hopefully
a senseless tragedy like this will be avoided in the future.
