OK Galahad Clicks In Charlottetown
OK Galahad held off some late challengers to win the Thursday night feature in 1:56.3 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Driven by Jason Hughes, OK Galahad went three high to the opening quarter to fight off rail sitter Eagle Jolt and Smiley Bayama to control the pace after the quarter flashed up in :28. The duo raced by the half in :56.4 and posted a 1:26 third panel. Starcastic (Ron Matheson) rallied in the stretch for second, with The Big Bite (Gilles Barrieau) third.
The trotters also took center stage with Majian Dillon, Tyne Valley and Frill Seeker winning their assignments.
One of the starters in the Race 4 trot class didn’t finish the mile. Professor Gordon fell into the centerfield after the rein broke en route to the opening half. The horse, and driver Vince Poulton, were not injured in the mishap.
Walter Cheverie enjoyed a driving triple on the program.
