Craft Beer & Racing A Winning Combo
After a week's rest to accommodate the Clinton Spring Fair, trotters and pacers were back in action at Clinton Raceway on Sunday, June 12.
The 10-race card was highlighted by the introduction of the newest craft beer in Huron County. Cowbell Brewing Co. of Blyth was on hand to give customers a taste of their Country Kolsch, Absent Landlord as well as a free coolie cup and the chance to win great prizes.
The brew was well received and is now available for the remainder of the season at Clinton Raceway.
The Five Drive was on site for a 'Day at the Races' fundraiser and were able to raise just under $1,000 with a 50/50, BBQ and bake sale for local food banks.
"Each week from now through the end of the season, we'll be hosting a different
group through our 'Day at the Races' program," stated Marketing Director Jessica Carnochan. "It's a great way to help different organizations raise some money, all while introducing new faces to harness racing."
Live racing continues on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, with Seaforth Public School trackside, raising funds for the completion of their playground equipment. The program will include the ever popular Racing Under Saddle event. The 10-race card goes postward at 1:30 p.m.
