Dresden’s ‘Little Saratoga Pace’ Set
Dresden Raceway`s first annual ‘Little Saratoga Pace’ is set for this Sunday afternoon.
The race will feature non-winners of $1,500 in their last three starts or non-winners of $3,000 in their last five starts or $6,000 claimers.
On Golden Ponder is the 8-5 morning line favourite, while Cat Four is the 2-1 second choice.
On Golden Ponder nailed down a third-place finish last week at Dresden for owners Tom Jacobs, Dominic DeSantis and trainer Greg Price, and is driven by Donnie Rankin Jr.
The five-year-old Ponder gelding will make just his second start after having been laid off since February.
Cat Four raced last week in Clinton and finished first, but he was placed second due to a violation. Cat Four was also claimed last week and is now owned by Derick Latour of Sarnia and trained by Leon Mansfield. Andy Moore will be in the bike.
The 12-year-old Camotion gelding has been the pacesetter in his last four races. He is expected to go to front for Moore from Post 2.
Post time for the 10-race card will be 1:30 p.m. There will be contests and giveaways all day long.
