Red Shores Weekend All Set To Go
Live racing is all set to go this weekend on Prince Edward Island, as Red Shores has live programs ready for Saturday at the Charlottetown Driving Park and Sunday at Summerside Raceway.
Combos look to stay perfect at Red Shores Weekend
The Saturday card at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park will feature a couple of driver and horse combinations that will be looking to stay red hot in 2016.
First-race post time on Saturday will be 6 p.m.
The Saturday night feature (Race 11, scheduled for post 8:51 p.m.) will see Forever Paradise and driver Mike McGuigan try and keep their perfection in tact from Post 3.
The six-year-old son of Western Paradise is conditioned by Kevin MacLean and owned by Reg Macpherson and David and Aaron Mackenzie. Forever Paradise has three victories from four starts this season, but his lone defeat came when McGuigan was not in the bike.
The task will be tough this week, as Forever Paradise will be forced to do battle with Invitational mainstays Clic K, All Turain and Big Surf. Newcomer Warrawee Phoenix will also be in the mix, as will Waterside Light.
The 12-dash card will also play host to the Open Mares in Race 9, where the mainland invader Miss Oromocto will look to pick up back-to-back victories in the Open Mare class. She’s set to face off against Best Risque, Brodys Leona and newcomer Windsun Kendra.

Eleven Dashes At Summerside On Sunday
The jammed-packed weekend action will shift to Summerside on Sunday, as 11 races are scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
The Race 10 feature will see another horse and driver combination look to stay perfect this season when Casmir Luciano teams up with driver Marc Campbell from Post 2.
The duo has combined for five wins from five starts together since the meet started back up in late April for owner and trainer Ralph Sweet.
The full field of eight features Lucky Enocunter (to be driven by Alex Sobey), Motorino (Brian MacPhee), Cambest Kisser (Jason Hughes), Zambuca Gass (Corey MacPherson), Cheyenne Ford ( McGuigan), Carnivore (Ken Murphy) and DBS Rosco (Kenny Arsenault).
The Drive for Charity is also back at Summerside this season, and Sunday will mark the first day for the fifth annual event to hit the historic Summerside oval.
