Pocono President / GM Bean Resigns
Mohegan Sun Pocono President / General Manager Mike Bean, 51, has announced that he is leaving the company after having served more than a decade with the organization.
“I’ve been here for more than a decade, so it’s been a big part of my life,” Bean was quoted as saying in an article by The Scranton Times-Tribune. “When I arrived, basically it was a racetrack with a plan.”
Bean further told The Scranton Times-Tribune that he has an opportunity that he definitely wants to take advantage of, but that now is not the appropriate time to publicly divulge what that opportunity is.
The article explains that Bean took over as president and general manager in the fall of 2012. Since then, the casino area at the facility has grown into one of the biggest gaming destinations in the region, with more than 2,300 slot machines, 90 table games, harness racing, retail stores, restaurants, bars and a comedy club.
Bean characterized the positive growth at Pocono as a “tremendous expansion.”
