Doug King Passes
It has been announced with great sadness that Douglas Wayne King of Saskatoon has passed suddenly.
Doug had a passion for sports, which was evident in the teams he coached and the joy he experienced both playing and cheering for Dylan and Colten's various teams.
King was a popular mentor, coach and friend to all that knew him. He also had a strong love of family and loved to travel. He grew up in Regina, graduated from Thom Collegiate and the University of Regina with a Business Administration degree. He worked in management for Queensbury Downs, Marquis Downs, and most recently was the director of Client Services for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming.
King was predeceased by his grandparents, Archie and Vera King, and Eva and Albert Hoyes. Doug leaves behind his beloved wife Kim, daughter Dylan and son Colten who were the apples of his eye. He is also survived by his parents Marj and Wayne King of Regina and his parents-in-law Doug and Gloria Gregor of Girvin. His sister Linda (Peter) Klassen of Regina Beach, niece Amanda (Kerry) Klassen and family (Kiana, Brolen, Rylan, Marshal) of Saskatoon, brother-in-law Scott Gregor, niece Jessica, nephew Jaden and sister-in-law Noreen Mahoney of Saskatoon. Doug also leaves behind the many friends and sports teams he was involved in and loved. The loss for his family and friends is immense. He will be loved and missed to eternity by all his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Prairieland Park, Hall B. A private family interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an education trust for Dylan and Colten. Details will be available at the memorial service. Arrangements entrusted to Mourning Glory Funeral Home.
