High Flier Hangs Tough At Flamboro
After a heated battle on the front end through the final lap in Flamboro Downs' $7,500 Preferred 3 Pace, High Flier persevered over his rivals for the Sunday night (April 17) feature win.
High Flier, driven by J Harris, committed first over from fourth after the first quarter and went head-to-head with the pacesetting Saulsbrook Peach (:27.3, :56.4, 1:25.1), eventually wearing him down in the stretch. As High Flier got by Saulsbrook Peach, Sword Ofthe Spirit zipped through the passing lane and nearly caught the new leader. However, High Flier found the wire just in time to secure the 1:55.1 victory by a quarter-length. Lyons Levi Lewis stormed home from the back of the pack to finish third.
Sent postward as the 5-1 fifth choice on the toteboard, High Flier returned $13.70 to his backers for a $2 Win ticket.
