Shadow Play Scopes Sick

In his first major test against older foes, many onlookers expected more from Shadow Play in his Molson Pace elimination from Friday night than a fifth-place finish. Turns out there's a reason for his performance

.

As Dr. Ian Moore reports in his latest Trot Blog entry, his prized pacer was scoped after his latest contest at Western Fair for only the fourth time in his career. For the result and Moore's thoughts on the source of the issues, click here.

Al Casselaman says what many are afraid too, good for him. Oh and as to the "surprise" the only "surprise" was the way too short exactor price in the race!!

wheres allan? talk about racing a horse hard! short field and used that way..catchdrivers what can you say...?

Dear Dr. Moore, It was the horses 2nd start of the year. He was racing for a paultry $25,000 purse ($280,000 next week). He had the outside on a bad first turn 1/2 mile track and only had to beat 1 horse , in a 5 horse field to get in the final. Racing from behind with his lightning quick speed, and beating only 1 horse, gets him to the final and a chance to draw better, with another start under his belt. Please consider scoping the drivers head in the future, and not the horse! yours truly,Al Casselman. P.S. This comment is backed by 55 years of Standardbred Racing experience (good and bad).
