'Eve Marie' Perfect For Puddy

Eve Marie Seelster kept her perfect record in the Victor Puddy stable in tact with a front-stepping effort in the $8,500 Preferred 3 Handicap Pace for fillies and mares on Wednesday, March 2 at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
Driven by Alfie Carroll, even-money favourite Eve Marie Seelster ($4.10) crossed to command from the outside post seven during a :28.1 first quarter and posted middle fractions of :59.3 and 1:29 en route to the one-length victory in 1:58.4. Bella Noche rallied three-wide from the backfield down the backstretch and edged out pocket-pursuer Shellace for second-place. The track was rated 'good' with a two second allowance.
Eve Marie Seelster was claimed away in February for two of her six starts this year, but kept her record perfect -- now four-for-four -- racing for trainer Victor Puddy and owner Keith Cassell. All four of her wins have also occurred over the London oval.
The eight-year-old Artiscape mare is now a lifetime winner of 34 races and $271,570 in purses.
