2009 TCNHC Gearing Up
Standardbred Canada is gearing up for the 2009 edition of the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship
. For the past two years, Woodbine Racetrack played the role of host for the rich final, but the location has changed for the 2009 edition.
Standardbred Canada is proud to announce that this year the TCNHC will be making its final stop at Rideau Carleton Raceway, which will host the $25,000 final.
Players wishing to attend the championship must first qualify at one of SC's partnering racetracks/association. Once over that hurdle, participants will be treated to an all inclusive weekend away at the nation’s capital, Ottawa, Ont. Prize package includes; hotel accommodations at the Ottawa Marriott, meals and more.
Standardbred Canada is pleased to announce the participating racetracks and qualifier dates for the 2009 TCNHC:
- Clinton Raceway – Elimination legs: August 30, September 6, September 13; Final to be contested September 20
- Flamboro Downs – TBA
- Georgian Downs – August 14, September 8
- Grand River - Every Monday from September 7 to September 21; Final September 28; Every Tuesday from September 8 to September 22; Final September 29
- Hanover Raceway - Every Wednesday in July (1, 8, 15, 22 and 29)
- Harness Racing PEI – TBA
- Kawartha Downs – TBA
- Rideau Carleton – TBA
- Sudbury Downs - Every Wednesday night starting September 2 through October 7
- Western Fair Raceway – TBA
- Woodbine – Greenwood Teletheatre, July 18; HPI Online, October 17
In addition to the on track qualifiers, Trot Magazine and Standardbred Canada will be holding several online qualifiers, which will be open to everyone. Contact information will soon be posted for the upcoming events on our TCNHC portion of this website.
