Another Positive Step For Tioga
Last week the New York Gaming Facility Location Board met and formally approved its October, 2015 decision to support casino expansion at Tioga Downs.
An article by the Finger Lakes Times has quoted State Gaming Commission spokesman Lee Park as saying that ‘suitability and background reviews’ are currently taking place.
Park expects that the commission to be able to be in a position to licence the track for expansion at some point in 2016.
On Wednesday, October 14, the New York Gaming Facility Location Board announced that it had unanimously recommended Tioga Downs to apply for a commercial casino license.
In its October decision, the location board stated that Tioga’s new application was “improved considerably from the one that the Tioga Applicant submitted in 2014 in response to the first gaming facility RFA. In contrast to the 2014 unsuccessful application, this Tioga Application commits substantially more equity to the project and decreases debt, which significantly improves the financial stability of the proposal.”
