Cimeronken Can At Western Fair
The last time driver Ryan Holliday sat behind trotter Cimeronken, the duo was victorious in a Preferred 3 Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District. Four starts later for Cimeronken, a return to the same class and reunited with Holliday, the result was the same.
Holliday hustled Cimeronken to command, but had to work to clear Credit Score (Jason Ryan) just past the :28 opening panel. Favoured Delcrest Massy (Alfie Carroll) sensed an opportunity to clear for control and looped out of third to do so, taking control and fronting the field through a :57.4 half.
Credit Score applied first over pressure down the backstretch, with Cimeronken covered up in the pocket. Just past the 1:28.4 third station, Credit Score's bid started to falter, giving Holliday clearance to angle out Cimeronken around the final turn. Down the stretch, Cimeronken had enough to outkick the pacesetter and hit the wire nearly three lengths to the good in 2:00.1 over Delcrest Massy with Thundering Ovation (Paul MacKenzie) completing the triactor.
Daryl Roberts trains Cimeronken (Ken Warkentin - Ms Biynka) for Denise Anderson of Mossley, Ont. The win was the 21st of the trotter's career, lifting his career bankroll to nearly a quarter million dollars.
