Best Risque Triples In Mares Open
Best Risque, under the control of Corey MacPherson, notched her third win in a row and remains perfect in the 2016 campaign after capturing the Saturday afternoon feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Best Risque, trained by Brian Ladner for his co-owners Lillian and Kevin Ladner, held off a late-closing Blazing By (Brian Andrew) and fraction-setter Sam (Jason Hughes) for the 2:01.4 score in the $2,350 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap.
MacPherson had four winners on the program also parading Hurricane Hill, Goodmorningmister and Idealic Life to victory lane. Twelve-year-old Idealic Life extended his winning streak to five in row claiming the $2,100 Mr Salming Pace in a sparkling 1:56.3 for trainer Trevor Hicken and the ownership team of Kent Livingston, Perry, Robin and Luke Burke.
Marc Campbell also recorded a grand-slam leaving him one shy of 1,500 in his career. Campbell started the afternoon with top honours aboard the Todd Walsh-trained Wandasbettorchoice and clicked with veteran pacer Barrett Jackson, Ideal Lifestyle and Eagle Jolt in the Mr Domi Pace.
Pictonian Storm shocked his rivals in race nine. The longshot, under the command of Wade Sorrie, returned $353.70 to win posting back-to-back victories. Walter Simmons of Summerside owns the pacer.
