Hat Trick For Im Tu Die For
The winning streak is now three-in-a-row and counting for pacing mare Im Tu Die For, who blew away the foes she faced in Saturday’s $10,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Fraser Downs.
Trainer/driver John Chappell got away third with Im Tu Die For while Phone Terror led the group through first-half fractions of :28.1 and :58.1. Chappell hit the accelerator in the backstretch, and Im Tu Die For quickly got into gear and muscled her way to the top at the three-quarter pole in 1:26.4. A :28.3 closing quarter propelled the five-year-old daughter of Allamerican Cobalt-Gypsy Soul to the six-length win over race favourite Phone Terror in 1:55.2. Sheezgotdawoogies took home the show dough.
Ross Sharp of Campbell River, BC owns the 14-time winner who has produced six of those wins this season. She’s racked up close to $30,000 in earnings this year and more than $126,000 to date.
