Rescue 7 Inc. has announced it will be hosting Winter Carnival Day, a free ski day with donations accepted for the Chase McEachern Memorial Fund, at The Heights of Horseshoe on Friday, January 29, 2016.

John McEachern told Trot Insider that skiing will be free, but donations will accepted for the Chase McEachern Memorial Fund. The free ski event is sponsored by Rescue 7 Inc. and 100 per cent of donations will go towards the purchase of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for not-for-profit groups for the protection of the young and old in communities across Canada. Any donation of $25 or more will receive a tax receipt.

All horsepeople are welcome to come out and enjoy a day of skiing (with free lessons) at The Heights in Barrie, Ont. Skating, tubing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and spa services are also available as well as an après ski.

McEachern noted that event organizers are still looking for a couple of sponsors, including one for the horse drawn wagon ride.
