Mister Skitter Stars In Saratoga Feature
Mister Skitter moved up into the featured pace for the first time on Saturday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.
The Don Sherman trainee set a lifetime mark last week when he went wire-to-wire in 1:52.1 with Austin Siegelman in the sulky. This week, he moved up into the $13,000 Winners Over Pace, which was the evening’s feature. Mister Skitter sat the pocket to Southwind Terror (Mark Beckwith) and cruised past him in the stretch to record the win in 1:52.4.
For Mister Skitter, a nominee for 2015 Three-Year-Old Pacer of the Year at the track, the victory was number eight on the season. He paid $8.30 to win. The race’s favourite, Drunken Desire A (Bruce Aldrich Jr.), came on to finish second and completed an exacta that came back $27.40 while Southwind Terror held on for third. The triple returned $93.
Mister Skitter (sired by Western Terror) is owned by Kathleen Grozenski.
The win was one of three on the night for reinsman Austin Siegelman.
