Muscle Hill Set To Qualify

Tomorrow’s 14-race qualifying session at The Meadowlands will feature a number of stars including the multi-talented trotting colt Muscle Hill, who makes his 2009 debut for trainer Greg Peck

Muscle Hill, a three-year-old son of Muscles Yankee – Yankee Blondie, capped off a brilliant rookie campaign with a thoroughly convincing victory in the $700,000 final of the Breeders Crown at The Meadowlands. He put together a solid 8-1-0 record in nine starts last season while banking in excess of $817,000.

Well Said and Dial Or Nodial are scheduled to face the starting gate for the second time this season after butting heads with some of the sport’s top two-year-old pacing colts and geldings in 2008. Both pacers are among the eligibles to this year’s Pepsi North America Cup.

Mister Big, a career winner in excess of $3.3 million, will make his fourth qualifying appearance of the season for trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr. The six-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear stepped to qualifying wins clocked in 1:55.3 and 1:55.1 at Hoosier Park prior to stopping the clock in 1:53.1 in last week’s qualifier at The Meadowlands.

Windsong Espoir, who was voted Canada’s Two-Year-Old Colt Trotter of the Year in 2007, is set to pick up his first charted line of the season for trainer Trond Smedshammer. The four-year-old son of Kadabra, who went 9-for-16 as a rookie, went winless in six starts as a sophomore.
