Diego Tops Blooded Horse Spring Sale
Sunny skies and warmer weather inspired owners and trainers to seek new racing stock at the 46th Annual Blooded Horse Spring Sale
. They came from 21 states to glean through the 601 horse catalogue.
The stakes placed Cambest gelding, Diego, topped the sale at $22,000. Still a maiden, the handsome youngster was purchased by Paul Corey as agent, to race at The Meadows. Cha Cha Star, a four-year-old son of The Panderosa consigned by Colby Hubble, took the runner up spot at $15,000. He was purchased by Bruce Hejl of Indiana.
You Better Watch Out, a consistent conditioned pacer from Pompano, brought $12,000 from Chuck Campbell of Michigan. Merv Chupp was the winning bidder at $11,000 for the classy four-year-old Camluck pacer Mattoxs Spencer who leaves Dover for Illinois. Keith Flint, also from Michigan, got the nod on the five year old Meadowlands claimer The Maniac for $11,000.
