Kevin Hewitt Passes

Horseman Kevin Hewitt, a native of New Zealand who plied his trade in New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday afternoon (November 18) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he had been hospitalized for the last 10 days. He was 60.

Hewitt was a fixture on the backstretches of New Jersey training centres and tracks. In addition to having a few horses of his own over the years, he worked for Ross Croghan and most recently Mark Harder.

Friends of Hewitt were planning to celebrate him in the Victory Sports Bar at the Meadowlands on Saturday night.
