Tajmeallover Circles The Field
Driver J.F. Gagne took a patient approach with Tajmeallover in Saturday’s $12,500 Open Fillies & Mares Pace at Century Downs, and his chosen tactics worked out perfectly.
Tajmeallover got away fifth and was later shuffled to sixth while Rummys Command shot to the lead and supplied the field with fractions of :28.3, :59.4 and 1:26. Tajmeallover was on the move going to the three-quarter pole, and when Gagne called on her to sprint in the late going she complied. Her :27.4 closing panel helped her earn the win by 1-1/4 lengths over Gottaluckydeal in 1:54.4. Rummys Command was third.
Marjorie Dumont trains the four-year-old daughter of Tajma Hall-Watch Over Me for Gagne and partners Peter Van Seggelen and Carl Warnaar. It’s been a breakout year for the distaffer who has assembled a 12-3-1 record from 18 starts – a far cry from the 1-2-0 record she compiled last season. She’s banked in excess of $71,000 this year and more than $80,000 to date.
