Amateurs To Donate To Food Bank

Veterans Day is a day in which the United States of America honours all those who served in military service for the country. On Veterans Day (November 11), the Catskill Amateur Driving Club and the North American Amateur Drivers Association will honour those who served the country with each club donating $1,000 to a local food pantry.

Alan Schwartz, president of the North American Amateur Drivers Association – who is also a veteran of the Vietnam War – said, “during the All Amateur Day race card here at Monticello Raceway five years ago we donated $5,000 to a local food pantry, it was such a nice thing to do, we decided to do it again for our former service members who may have fallen on hard times.”

Jerry Fielding, president of the Catskill Amateur Driving Club, has thrown down the gauntlet and has challenged any other track or amateur driving club to exceed their contribution.

If there are any parties that are interested in making a donation, contact Monticello’s race office at 845-794-4100 (Ext. 557).
