Updated: Nova Scotia Sale Results
Results from the 2015 Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Select Yearling Sale, which was held on Friday (October 23) at the MacMillan Show Centre at Truro Raceway, have been updated by sale organizers.
According to corrected sale results, a total of 37 yearlings passed through the sales ring, selling for $204,200 and producing an average price of $5,519. Oceanview Beemer and Articulate Barb were the sale toppers.
Oceanview Beemer, selling as Hip 6, was purchased for $16,500 by Peter Smith. Consigned by Bill Roloson, the Articulator-Hygeia Hanover filly is a half-sibling to Oceanview Bindi ($278,470 - 1:51.1), who was a winner on Friday night at Woodbine Racetrack.
Articulate Barb, Hip 38, was a bid in for $16,500 (the bid in was for the filly's breeder/owner, J. Gregory Mackenzie). The Articulator filly is the first foal out of the Cambest mare Daisy Gamble, who is a half-sibling to Trinity Islands ($249,031 - 1:50.3), Red High Heals ($292,235 - 1:52.1) and Rummys Command ($153,256 - 1:53.1).
Other top priced yearlings included Bonzai Beach and Saulsbrook Fresh, both selling for $11,000, and Pickem N Flickem with a $10,000 price tag. Daniel Ross purchased Bonzai Beach, an Ameripan Gigolo-Beach Dreams filly, from the Meridian Farms consignment. Norman Frank had the winning bid on Saulsbrook Fresh, a Western Paradise-Lasting Light filly consigned by the Saulsbrook Stables. Bred by J. Gregory MacKenzie, colt Pickem N Flickem, another yearling by Articulator, out of the mare Sugar Booger, was purchased by Sandra Foley.
As previously announced, the proceeds from the sale of Ashes To Ashes, Hip 32, will be donated to the Bible Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Consigned by Meridian Farms, the Driven To Win-Red Star Ashlee colt was purchased for $5,000 by Blaine McKenna.
