Mike Lachance joined some very elite company on Sunday following his victory behind three-year-old pacer Cool Clyde in the second race at Harrah’s Chester

Racetrack.

The victory for the 58-year-old Quebec native was the 10,000th of his career. That number that has only been reached by seven other reinsmen in North American history - Herve Filion, Cat Manzi, Dave Palone, Tony Morgan, Walter Case, Jr., Dave Magee and John Campbell.

The double Hall of Famer, who is a career winner in excess of $178 million, sits second only to John Campbell ($264 million) in the all-time money-winning drivers in the history of harness racing. “Iron Mike” is the last driver to lead North America in wins for four straight years (1984-1987).

Since recording his first driving win in 1968, Lachance has captured some of the most prestigious events in the sport such as the Little Brown Jug, the Hambletonian, the North America Cup, the Breeders Crown and the Meadowlands Pace and the Canadian Pacing Derby.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering congratulations to Mike Lachance on achieving the 10,000th win of his career.
